There are 3 sections of the Kruger named after trees: Nkayeni meaning place of the knob-thorn, Nxanatseni meaning place of the mopane, and the Marula region.

• There are 24 camps in Kruger
• 1 243 000 visitors arrived in 2005-2006. Of these
• 76% were South Africans, 22% International, 2% SADC (Southern African Countries)
• The most popular camp is Lower Sabie because of its close proximity to excellent and well known Game areas on the basalt savannah
• KNP employs more than 2500 people
• More than 9000 people live in the park
• Kruger trained 256 people from the community
• 1364 people are employed from the communities
• Kruger spent R43 million in development
